It seems that if you want to generate a cropped version of an image, the central focal point of the new image will always be the same as for the original image.
For instance, imaging that I have an image that is 1000x1000 px. I want to crop it to produce a smaller image that only contains the first 300x200 px of the original image, starting in the lower left corner. I want to do this via a URL like https://media.publit.io/file/c_custom,x_0,y_0,w_300,h_200/IMAG0271.jpg but there seems to be no such option.
This would be quite powerful and is supported by more established systems such as Cloudinary. Is there some way to achieve this that I'm missing? If not, is it on your roadmap? Hopefully it's not a big technical leap from where you are today.
OK, thanks Nemanja. I will watch for those updates! That feature will be a great addition and make Publitio significantly more competitive.
How would I set up a slideshow for a set of images/photos?
We don't offer that solution out of the box, but you can find any kind of slideshow app and link images from publitio into it the same way you would do if you hosted images on another service.
Hi,
I am a AppSumo purchaser and I am wondering how to calculate potential bandwidth needs. If I have an online course and the files are saved at Publitio then how would I know when I would run out of bandwidth for the month?
If the bandwith is exceeded is there an automatic charge?
Appreciate any help,
John...
You can find answer on your question on our blog

I'm still considering Publit.io as an alternative to S3+Cloudfront. Does Publit.io have a CDN?
Thanks, Nemanja. That answers my question for now.
Hi guys, i'm trying to set up my own CNAME through your tutorial "Advanced setup via CloudFront CDN with HTTPS support " to get https support. everything went fine with AWS but the last step on your side in the settings panel is failing.
i have either this error "Verification failed. Please create CNAME Record for 'cdn.fkweb.net' pointing to 'media.publit.io.'" (but i'm using AWS CNAME in DNS) or a 403 error if i use "cdn" as ID because it says it already exist ??!?
I can't spot my mistake.
Can you help ? thx !
Hello there, I am having the same problem, but I don't want to post the same question again and I can't find your chat support. I got the CloudFront CDN set up, but can't save the settings on the publitio site, getting the following error: Error 422: Verification failed. Please create CNAME Record for 'cdn.vapefuse.com' pointing to 'media.publit.io.' Please let me know how I can fix this. Thank you.
Has anybody any experience using Publitio with Oxygen Builder in WordPress? If so I'd love some advice how to import a video simply. I'm a novice both to Publitio and to a lesser degree, Oxygen. Any help, however simple, would be greatly appreciated.
Hello is there any advance on this subject?
Are Publito hosted videos available to view in China? Are they blocked like YouTube and Vimeo?
I am currently testing in China. Without a VPN, streaming the videos are all but at a standstill.
Hi, how can I get SSL certs for my CNAME URL? Thanks.
Hello Andrew here is tutorial for this https://publit.io/community/blog/custom-cname-cdn-for-media-files-urls-at-publitio
after you finish your side of integration we need to generate certificates on our side and we do that few times a day.
So if everything you were supposed to do is done then it will start working soon.
Reach us via chat support if needed.
Hi
I am very interested in this product but do you plan to add any more security options to it in the near future such as HLS security and secured access by email?
If so what would the time scale be?
Thanks
Matt
We are exploring HLS option to implement if it's possible to deploy servers on our current infrastructure so it's just matter of time when we will have it but it will be before new year. If we can't deploy it on our own infrastructure and we have to use for example Amazon Services for this we might implement it but it would be at special pricing as Amazon charges over 100$/1TB.
So time frame ETA 2-3 Months it's in the list of priorities.
I heard you work together with VooPlayer.
Where can I find info on that VooPlayer connection and it's features?
Thanks!
Here is blog post where we explained how to use VooPlayer
